Lots of routines and building expectations were practiced today- even in the cafeteria for lunch! Thank you lunch ladies for serving us meals every day!

We started off in the right foot with a full belly from breakfast which helped us learn about Mrs. Gerard and Miss Bailee in the library.

Students are not allowed to use cell phones, smart watches, or Bluetooth earbuds during the school day. If cell phones are brought to school, they must stay off and out of sight in student backpacks. Thank you for your cooperation.

We have breakfast & hot lunch everyday. Here are the prices. The cafeteria and library have an ID number assigned . Please practice this number repeatedly with your child on a keypad like the one pictured. Lunch accounts can also be paid online with the Infinite Campus app.

Welcome Mrs. Phillips as our Assistant Principal! A little info: This is her 16th year in education and third year as an administrator. She began teaching in 2010 in Quincy in 2nd grade. In 2014, she began teaching at Veterans Elementary where she spent time in 5th grade, 4th grade, and served as the Reset & Restore teacher. Mrs. Phillips spent the last two years serving as the Assistant Principal at Bowling Green Elementary where she worked closely with students, staff and families. A message from her: I am truly blessed and grateful to be back at Veterans working with the students, staff and families here. I look forward to sharing my experiences and knowledge with you all.

Did you know? ARRIVAL TO SCHOOL Our doors will open at 7:30 a.m. Breakfast service begins at 7:40 a.m. Staff will direct students to the appropriate areas throughout the building. The school day begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:15 p.m. Parents are welcome to walk their children down to the gym or music room to start the day the first two days of schools. Past that time, we'd ask that you allow our staff and big buddies to help our students find their way. If you are dropping off your child, please follow the safety arrows to ensure a safe flow of traffic for everyone. There will be cones placed in the 2nd and 3rd drop off lanes for morning arrival, which is at the front main entrance. Reducing the drop of lane to one will maximize the students’ safety as they will be curbside. Please DO NOT park in the drop off lane. There are parking spots available if you would like to walk your child to the door or need to come into the office. As you are exiting the parking lot, please refrain from crossing through the parking lot. Follow the circle around to exit on Route W or Veterans Rd. Our kindergarten and 1st grade students will begin their day in the music room, while students in grade 2, 3, 4, and 5 will be in the gym. Teachers will pick up their students from these locations at 8:10 a.m. Once in the classroom, our students will participate in “soft starts”. This allows the students to get acclimated to the day and offers the teacher an opportunity to check in with each child.

The new school year is almost here, and we are excited to welcome everyone back! Teacher letters will be sent out this week.

As we prepare for the new school year, we want to let you know that ClassDojo will not be used for parent communication this year. We will share more information soon about the new platform we will use to keep families connected with the school and your child's teacher.
